Rock dude...

Good morning, dear Blogging buddies!  Hope you're all having a wonderful start to the weekend?!  I have another pop up box card to share today, (which I couldn't share until after the recipient's party last night) featuring the fab Kenny K image, Rock Dude!...
...These images are such fun to colour and are real characters!  I coloured Rock Dude with my Pro/Flexmarkers using the following colours :
Skin - Blush, Dusky Pink, Coral
Hair - Sandstone, Caramel, Cocoa, Henna
T Shirt - Soft Aqua, Aquamarine, Cool Aqua, Surf Blue
Jeans - Dolphin Blue, Pastel Blue, Cadet Blue
Guitar - Red, Crimson, Burgundy
Boots - Sandstone, Caramel, Cocoa, Henna
...I added part of the sentiment, star die cuts and gems to strips of acetate and attached onto the back cross bar.  I created the second part of the sentiment and added to the front cross bar, then highlighted with a touch of glitter...
...I used some pale blue polka dot and a homemade plaid for the box panels and finished with a circle sentiment layered onto a SB Eyelet circle.
I just love these fun box cards and think they're great for creating cards with a bit of impact!  Thanks for taking the time to come and see my Rockin' creation and I love to read any coments that you leave me! Until next time...
Huge crafty hugs,
I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges :

Passion for Promarkers - Rags to Riches...

Good morning, lovely Bloggers!  Tuesday's rolled around again which means it's time for another fun challenge over at Passion for Promarkers!  This week it's the lovely Shelly in the hosting chair and she has chosen the theme, 'Rags to Riches'...so she'd like to see something on your card that would otherwise have been discarded, so maybe the ribbon from a box of chocolates, pearls from an old necklace, materials from packaging, or an altered object.  This week we are sponsored by the lovely Nikki over at Polkadoodles and she's offering the lucky winner 2 digistamps...
Don't forget to be eligible to win the prize, you MUST use your Letraset products (i.e. promarkers, flex markers, aqua markers, tria markers, metallic markers or neon markers) and of course follow the theme.
...So, I made 2 projects for the challenge!  To fit in with the theme, I altered an old Pringle pot into an ESSENTIAL 'Handbag and Shoe Fund' money box! (A girl can never have too many, you know?!)...

...I covered the pot with embossed card and white lace then attached some gingham ribbon, sentiment, image and flowers...
...I then made a matching card using the sassy Fredericka Chic image which Nikki kindly offered as part of the challenge...
...I coloured Fredericka with my Pro and Flexmarkers and paper pieced her skirt with dark pink polka dot paper...
...I decorated the inside of the card with a patchwork effect paper made from paper scraps and the sentiment reads 'Friends are like shoes and handbags - you can never have too many...especially ones as nice as you! Many Happy Returns to a Special Friend.'
I hope you can find the time to join in with our challenge this week and look forward to seeing all your wonderful creations!  Don't forget to hop on over to the Passion for Promarkers blog to see what my lovely teamies have been up to!
Crafty hugs,
I'd like to enter my money box into the following challenges :

This weather's playing havoc with my crafting!...

Good evening, dear Blogging buddies!  I know, it's been a while, but as the title suggests, I am having a hard time finding the want to sit at my crafty table with all this glorious weather, not to mention that Mr Mojo seems to have gone on his jollies to cooler climes!
I have also been busy doing bouquets and church flowers for a friend's recent wedding which we attended.  It seems that life is taking over at the moment and with the warmer weather, the opportunity to spend some relaxing time with family and friends is taking presidence!  The washing machine is on overtime and the barbecue has had a couple of lightings - there's nothing better than the taste of a good sausage or burger cooked over coals...and speaking of burgers, this leads nicely onto my crafty share for today...
...I decided to make a fun shaped card using the burger image from A Play on Words.  I printed the image twice on one page, using Windows Photo Viewer so that I could decoupage a layer and added some Memory Box stars on strips of acetate...
...I made the sentiments in PS and mounted onto black card for a bit of impact.  To decorate, I glittered the ketchup and lettuce and added some light brown flock to the sesame seeds on the bun.  I think this would be a great card for a fast food fan and really like the way it turned out! Hope you like it too!
Huge thanks for dropping by today and although I'm not wishing the sunshine away (especially as my little man is on his school trip), I hope that Mr Mojo returns home soon!  I'll be back again in the morning with a new challenge for Passion for Promarkers, so until then...TTFN!
Big hugs,
I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges :
Anything Goes (intil 28th)
Anything Goes (until 25th)
Shaped Cards (closes tomorrow)

Passion for Promarkers DT - One for the Boys/Men...

Good morning, lovely Bloggers!  It's Tuesday again (who stole last week?!) and time for another fabulous challenge at Passion for Promarkers!  This week we have the lovely Nic (aka Coops) in the chair and being Father's Day this Sunday, she would like to see your wonderful creations for the Boys/Men in our lives!  This week we are sponsored by the amazing Letraset who are offering one lucky winner a set of markers!...

...I was lucky enough to win Challenge #73 over at 613 Avenue Create and got to choose 5 digis from Creative Bug Digital Snapshots, so thought I would use one of them for my DT card this week...
...I used Prima Forever Young and School Memories paper pads and made the yellow polka dot by changing the hue on the green Telephone polka dot paper...
...I 3D paper pieced the little dog (called Look at Me Lolly) after colouring him with my Pro/Flexmarkers and show the little pieces above.  The colours I used were : Vanilla, Sandstone, Caramel, Cocoa, Walnut, Umber and Black.  I added some Glossy Accents to his nose and eyes to make them shine...
...I inked the circle die before cutting the aperture that the little dog is peeping out of and embellished with a wooden button, string bow, aqua pearls and photo corners.  Well, that's it for today - another short and sweet post!  I hope you can find the time to join in with our challenge this week and look forward to seeing all your fabulous creations!  Don't forget to hop on over to the Passion for Promarkers blog to see what my lovely teamies have been up to!

Another place ticked off the list...

..Hello their, dear Blogging buddies!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend enjoying the warm, Summer weather?!  We were forecast another glorious day for Sunday, so picnic lunch made, we set off for another of my 'places to visit'...Bodnant Gardens.  We all love beautiful and historic architecture, but I have to say, gardens are my indulgence and hubby and little man were dragged along!  Not too reluctantly, mind you!...
...We timed it just right for the laburnum arch to be in full bloom and the smell was intoxicating!...
...The irises were still putting on a good show, though many of the larger bearded iris were coming to an end...
...Everywhere looked so lush and green and there were so many stunning plants to see.  The rhodedendrons were in full bloom in the Yew Dell (or Yo-del as little man named it!), there were himalayan primulas of all different colours, wisteria, water lilies, the sweetest smelling roses and the biggest ever gunnera leaves!...
...Little man posed for a photo or two!  Just look at that hosta...mine look like lace curtains the way the slugs have been at them!!...
...the mausoleum...
...Bodnant Hall...
...and the old Pin Mill.  The pond was full of tadpoles, so little man enjoyed catching a few in his hands to see how far they had progressed!...
...above the Pin Mill is the terraced garden with all sorts of climbers, foxgloves, lilies, lupins and more.
The weather was glorious and even better was the fact that it was free as MIL has a family membership to the National Trust!  We sat and had ice creams at the Old Mill Cafe and must have walked miles in total!...
Coming back through Betws-y-coed, we decided to stop at Conwy Falls, just in case we hadn't walked enough!...
...The falls are actually quite fierce, but you couldn't really get too near, so it was difficult to take pics...
...the noise of the water was amazing and the photos actually make it look quite serene!  Then it was home, to a well earned cuppa and a rest of our weary feet!  Another great family day out in the beautiful Welsh countryside!  It's days like these that we realise just how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful part of the country  - the views on the drive over are just as stunning...and they're not too bad out of our own front window, even...especially once my own garden is finished!  Speaking of which, here's a look at how it's getting on...
..I know it doesn't look much, but if you could've seen the before pictures?!  I had 2 foot weeds all the way around and grass to match!  I am hoping to get rid of the grass area, just because it's such a pain to cut and have paving stones and gravel with pots on.  I am keeping the more established shrubs and might add a few perennials dotted here and there.  Everything just grows at such a pace at this time of year that it's hard to keep up!  I hope this warm weather continues - we have another mild day today.  Have a wonderful week and I hope to be back soon with some craftiness to share!
Big hugs,
